Aaron Hernandez
Aaron Hernandez, guilty of murder in the first degree. Not a surprise. Still, as long as I live, I will never understand what went on inside his head. A guy who had fame, wealth, youth, physical gifts, and everything anyone could wish for. Yet, he could not or would not divorce himself from his thug life. From all accounts, he was this way even in his days at U of Florida. To just shoot people, on a whim, or for some slight that may have felt, makes no sense at all. Even through the reading of the jury verdict, he remained a stoic bad boy, acting as if the prospect of spending the rest of his life in jail, minus all the worldly goods he amassed, minus his girlfriend and baby, meant nothing. Obviously Oden Lloyd's life meant nothing to him, too..Mindboggling.

What would so many of us give to have been in his shoes, minus
the mania for violence?
To see that all thrown away, just defies words.

Re: Aaron Hernandez
I am glad he is no longer a resident of my town. I actually drove up route 1A for a meeting in Norwood today. I went past Aaron's new home at MCI-Cedar Junction (aka Walpole State Pen). The police blocked all the entrances to the prison which is not the norm. Several satellite trucks with media were assembled across the street. Kind of amusing knowing that Hernandez now lives so close to where (Gillette Stadium) he used to make his millions.
I also thought is was kind of weird watching the overhead helicopter shots of the courthouse in Fall River yesterday. I hadn't realized that the Borden house where the double murders of Lizzie's father and step-mother occurred was directly across the street from the back of the courthouse.

Re: Aaron Hernandez
I noticed that too. The sign for the Borden house was in ESPN's shots of the courthouse.

Re: Aaron Hernandez
I read this morning on Boston.com they're going to move him to a facility in Shirley. What a sociopath.

Re: Aaron Hernandez
Sociopath is the right word.
Read what he told Kraft after he signed the big contract.
So much blowing smoke, and saying what he knew Kraft
wanted to hear.

Re: Aaron Hernandez
I watched the NBC 10 special last night featuring the jurors. I hope those people can carry on their private lives now too.
