ESPN and LeBron James
LeBron had a wonderful game of 61 points vs. The Charlotte Bobcats.
Earlier in the year Carmelo Anthony had 62 points against the Bobcats.
So, of course Sports Center was all LeBron James last night.
They had on Stephen A. Smith, who was talking about the game.
The ever obnoxious Stuart Scott was cloyingly asking Smith,
"Shouldn't this game put LeBron at the top of the NBA MVP list?"
Whereupon, Smith took Scott to school. Point by point why this wasn't the case, and how
Durant carried his team when Russell Westbrook was out.
He said that while Lebron had Dwayne Wade out, he still had a much
better supporting cast.
As if a game vs. the Bobcats would make anyone MVP.
ESPN is just absurd with their "binkies", LeBron, Peyton Manning, RGlll and
previously, Tim Tebow and Brett Favre.
LeBron is a great player, but stop being his publicity machine, and allow that
someone else, may just be having a better year under more difficult circumstances.

Re: ESPN and LeBron James
If Carmelo can get 62 vs the bobcats Lebron should be able to score more. And if Kevin Durant doesnt win the MVP i will lose all faith in the NBA.

I haven't had cable for the past year or so - it's been a great decision. I don't miss any sports news, and I don't have to be bombarded with coverage of the same 5 athletes and stories over and over again. Lebron and Durant are 1 and 1A in the league IMO.

Another reason why I don't watch ESPN for anything other than live sports.

Watched an entire SportsCenter for the first time in years the other night, only because I knew the Rams were going to be on top plays. It was worth it, but everything leading up to it was PAINFUL. Besides live sports, the only thing worth watching on ESPN is 30 for 30.

Yeah this exactly. It was the first time i had watched even a few minutes of it in years, and it was torture.SmartyBarrett wrote:Watched an entire SportsCenter for the first time in years the other night, only because I knew the Rams were going to be on top plays. Re: ESPN and LeBron James
They barely show ANY highlights for teams other than the ones where their binkies play. I remember in the late 90s when every game (virtually) had some highlights or at least he "score/stat box screen" displayed.
Then they moved to highlights with limited stats overlaid on the highlight video.
Then they moved to just highlights with spoken stats.
Then they went to spending 40% of the show on human interest crap (Disney influence??) and 10% on soccer (amazing how they force feed soccer highlights just because Disney owns World Cup rights). I like soccer, but it seems to forced.

Saw this on Deadspin. It sums up our frustrations nicely. Check the left side of the screen.
