I vote NO on typically every bond, unless it's for the benefit of URI-- in that case, this is a HUGE YES!

Is there any (scientifically valid) polling in Rhode Island to indicate where this and other ballot measures stand?

(If not, getting URI and the projo together to do some polling would be something somebody at either or both of those institutions should consider. It is a dynamic that works well for a lot of other university/news outlet tandems, for obvious reasons.)

Where is the Innovation Campus supposed to be? I don't think it is stated anywhere, could it go on the I-195 reclaimed land? Quonset might be better, that is , if it is not in Kingston.

According to a WPRI poll released today, 61% are in favor of passing this referendum.

It looks like this will pass, but by less than the poll projected and it seems like by much less than other bond issues.

Stupid Rhode Islanders do not appreciate their flagship state university.

All questions will pass handily. Nothing changing in RI.

Whatever. At least it passed. I got my voting preference on all Massachusetts ballot measures, too, but it is of little consolation right now.

I went to a birthday party last Saturday, I did not want to bring up Clinton-Trump, but talked about the Bond issues.
It was like looking at a bunch of blank faces. Nobody even new what the Questions were about, but they vote for all of them just the same.
Not sure about the Port and the issue with Providence Port, is this a deal for the state to take land owned privately and get stuck with cleaning up the Hazardous Waste on the site?

So with 99% of the vote in, the measure passed at 59%. For reference, two years ago the $125 million first part of the engineering complex passed with 63.6%.

All but two towns that went for Clinton approved the bond, with the two rejects being Little Compton and Tiverton.

It was more of a mixed bag in places that went for Trump. Approves were Exeter, Johnston, Lincoln, North Smithfield, Smithfield, West Warwick and Westerly.

Rejects were Burrillville, Coventry, Foster, Glocester, Hopkinton, Richmond, Scituate and West Greenwich.

I believe passage of the $68 million Fine Arts bond is unlikely in two years. The dip from two years ago for a significantly lower amount, a perceived inferiority of arts compared to stem careers and I believe a weaker economy are all things that could make it a tougher climb. No Trump type candidate on the ballot/disillusionment from the Trump crowd after his first two years are an unmitigated disaster could lead to fewer of those people that voted for Trump coming out which could be a help.

If they present the Fine Arts Bond as a Green Fine Arts Bond with solar panels, it might pass.
