Unless, we have the damned storm predicted for Sunday,
and he never gets here.
Love this global warming.

Really....really....really don't want to derail this thread, but you know that all of this extreme weather is a result of climate change, right? You don't have to believe it is "man made" and we don't have to argue about it, but don't come with the idea that it being cold outside is proof that "global warming" is a scam. Global warming is a misnomer with respect to local temperatures. It is a fact that the average temp of the planet is getting warmer and melting the ice caps, and that is wreaking havoc on "normal" weather patters.

Sorry for the rant, but I can't help myself whenever I see "so much for global warming!" It is my pet peeve.

True, TP. Global warming means more weather extremes, more and worse storms, etc.

Fortunately for us, it hasn't meant an increase yet in hurricanes around here. Except for Sandy, of course.

It's not global warming, it's solar system warming, the other planets in our system are also warming. Stripping the world to harvest fossil fuels is bad, very bad, but the earth appears to be warming up because of solar cycles.

Solar cycles, CO2 emissions, whatever it is, the world is definitely warming.

We have a summer place on Pt. Judith pond, over the last 30 years or so, we can tell the sea levels are rising. The low tides, even the moon tides, aren't as low as they used to be. The high tides are higher. It isn't much yet, but it's noticeable. It's going to get much worse over the next 30 years.

We were going to buy another house nearer the water a few years ago, but didn't, because of this.

I watched a PBS show on the bog ritual kiillings in Ireland.
They said there was a period where there was tremendous amounts of rain
and cold, and it went on for a hundred years or so.
The Dark Ages was also a cold time in Europe.
These things are cyclical, and nothing to do with libs and Algore.

Well, anyone who's young, will see in their lifetimes some HUGE changes ahead.

Cities on the east coast, like Boston and NYC, will have to build walls to keep the sea out, or else disaster.

Miami is already seeing rising water levels under their streets. It's not good.

I worry for my grandchildren in a lot of ways, and that's one of them. That and terrorism. But that's for another thread.

I love global warming. I hope RI turns into Florida weather. And if the sea rises a great deal, I may finally have oceanfront property on Scarborough Beach.

There was a lot of worthless hot air being expelled into the atmosphere from him about how he ran the program the right way. You might be on to something!
