OT: Providence Hotels

Unread post by ElmCityRhody »

Hey ATP.. You can fine me in kangaroo court and move this thread..

I am planning on going to Warerfire on Aug 24 and need a hotel for Saturday night ..

I wanted Marriott courtyard.. But they require a 2 night stay..

Any suggestions ?

I'm looking for something nice and closest to waterfire..

All I can find so far for a 1 night stay is the Hilton.. But not sure in proximity or if you guys have a better suggestion..

Thanks

Providence is pretty walkable so I wouldn't be concerned with the Hilton's distance. Did you check the Renaissance or Biltmore?

Yeah, any of those are good. Waterfire is so spread out you can get there quickly from any of those hotels.

A nice small hotel is the Hotel Providence on Mathewson Street near Westminster. Short walk to Waterfire. Another choice is Hampton Inn on Weybosset Street - very close to Waterfire.

I was just looking at the hotel providence Obadiah.. It seemed far away, but are you saying its about the same walk as the Hilton ?.. If its in a better overall area, I might go w/ that one.. What would you go with ?

Whatever they're calling the Weston, these days. Good location.
Little pricey, but in walking distance to anything downtown.
Oh, they don't validate parking, which sucks.
Their'Heavenly Bath" is just a regular bathroom, by the way.

Thx rod.. Yeah I was just looking at the westin.. A lot of these hotels are 2 night minimums.. Which is working against me.. At the moment it looks like Hilton or providence hotel are the only 1 night options I am seeing.. Still looking tho

try the Marriot by the State House. Hotel Providence is really nice. Easy walk to Waterfire.

ElmCity, I just stayed in the Courtyard Marriott this past weekend for a one night stay thru Priceline.

They definitely don't require two nights. Plus, a lot of rooms have a direct view of Waterplace park (Waterfire's centerpiece) as well.
