Btw, if anyone else is going, they should check out Taylor Swift's new digs near there, it's amazing. That's if you can get past the guards!
17 million....cash. I hear if you're a good swimmer, you can check it out.

Ah, the rich and famous. No Powerball for them, no need.

Wonder how much time she will actually spend there. Probably not much.

Did you hear about the stalker they arrested? Supposedly he swam about a mile in the middle of the night to get to her residence, just in case you were wondering about my swimming comment.

Did she have an affair with the swimmer and get dumped, so she could write about it?
What was it some late night host said? "They found a way to make a microscopic book.
It was titled 'Taylor Swift's Advice on Successful Relationships'."

Slightly off topic. Imagine Miley Cyrus being voted maxim's hottest woman????
What the hell are young people looking at?
I'm also amused by the song, The Climb. Oh, what a tough life she's had,
climbing all those mountains thrown in front of her in her 20 years.
Geez, it took Frank Sinatra in his 50's to do My Way.
Ridiculous people like her and Justa Beaver and their sense of entitlement.

Rod, at least in the entertainment industry, it's pretty well-known that the "No. 1" spot is normally picked just to generate controversy and headlines, and may include payoffs from publicists. I don't know of anyone who is into Miley Cyrus now. I believe last year, the pick was Lindsay Lohan, which was also somewhat insane.

I like real women, and I'll take Charlize Theron or Heidi Klum over any of the unwashed hoes of a younger age.

1. I think the Maxim list is supposed to be a little tongue-in-cheek and is also designed to get people talking about the list. Nobody thinks Miley Cyrus is attractive except Miley Cyrus.

2. Are you guys serious about Taylor Swift? There isn't a less likable person in my opinion. Never has there been a person who thinks of herself as being more talented, cuter and deeper who is less talented, more obnoxious and shallower. She is the absolute worst.

3. Never has any generation had worse taste in music and culture in general than this one. And I know that makes me sound old, but I'm not that far removed, age-wise, from this generation. Objectively, it is really, really bad. The only time period that was comparably terrible was the mid-80s, and even that has become kind of cool in an ironic way. The culture being produced now will never be cool in any way, ironic or otherwise. I fear for the future of culture.

Wow! I 100% agree with # 3!
My generation had The Beatles, Elvis, The Stones, Dylan, Clapton et al.
These kids have Justin Beaver, and a host of forgetable hip-hop and rap acts.
Alisha Keys is a real singer. I really like Bruno Mars. Still, just too much of what's out is crap.
The only consistently real music, with lyrics and melody these days is in country music.
I enjoyed early 80's music. I thought late 70's was a wasteland.
MTV was great in it's conception. Then it became a cesspool.
Emphisis on shock viewing, like Jersey Shore, which appeals to idiots.
Yes, I am 63 years old, but you can't tell me music and talent is better now, than
from 1963 forward.

I love Bon Jovi calling Beaver and asshole for not respecting fans. Little self entitled twit.
Now as for Taylor Swift, you'd best be careful or Blue Man will come looking for you.

EX-NFL STAR CHASES DOWN BIEBER

On Sunday, Keyshawn Johnson was driving with his child in the car when Bieber sped past them -- so the athlete followed the star home.

Very ironic that Keyshawn has become the voice of reason...
If that self centered prick thinks you need a reality check; it's time to take a look in the mirror
As far as music goes; you need at least a decade to look back and figure it all out.
All the iconic groups you mentioned have one hit wonders that would be considered the contemporaries of "Call me Maybe" and crap like that. Who would have thought that a dude in red leather pants and more Aqua net than most high school girls would end up being a soulful, real musician. Look at Timberlake, cheezy as they come 10 years ago, now making some good music.

You want real music now? Go country

There is so much music out there, there is definitely some good stuff. It just isn't popular. Indie rock is producing the acts that will survive decades from now. And 30 years from now, all the Wiz Kalifa and Nikki Minaj and Beiber fans will say they were listening to Iron & Wine, The Head and The Heart, The Bravery, Passion Pit, Portugal. The Man, etc.

Agree with this. History tends to have a way of filtering out the winners and losers. Pick a Billboard chart for any random year and there's a good chance you'll only recognize about a quarter to a half of the acts: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billboard_ ... es_of_1969

My wife and I just saw the Avett Brothers, Grace Potter, and a pretty fun duo from Brooklyn called Matt & Kim last weekend, and there was a huge turnout. Good stuff.

There are so many mediums available to access music now, that people are able to venture out and find the good stuff. Youtube, spotify, pandora, etc etc. A lot of shitty music, but also some really good stuff. Just gotta turn off the radio.

Avett Brothers are fantastic. Best move I ever made was getting Sirius/XM. Never have/will listen to the regular radio ever again.

heh, There is an actual name for this effect, and it's escaping me right now... But magically, most people inherently overrate the media they consumed when they were between the ages of 13 to 21 or so. The further you get away from that sweet spot, the dicier it can get sometimes.
