Music Thread

Unread post by Statbeastjr »

Hey all, so I don't really post about basketball on here but figured it would be cool to start a music thread because why not. So come on and post some your favorite artists, some live shows, or some new up and coming bands. I'll start with the coolest band of the past twenty years...the Strokes! Here's their best live performance, in my opinion anyway.

I've been listening to the new Daft Punk CD, like it. Not as good as their older stuff in terms of singles, but the overall groove of the album is pretty good, and I've liked listening to it while writing.

SG, not a huge Daft Punk fan myself..a little too electronic for my taste. But they definitely have some good songs on the album. I thought their new single with Pharrell was pretty good. And obviously anything with Julian Casablancas in it is gonna be good so I like the collaboration they had with him. And Ramulous let us know what you think if you end up checking 'em out. I've actually been listening to alot of garage rock recently. Bands like the Black Lips http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t4mfVyLxYu8 or any of King Khan's projects http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xtZccp4vtLQ are really good.

I can't say I know a whole lot about The Kills, but I saw them mentioned in the Detroit thread and this morning I got an email that says they'll be opening for Queens of the Stone Age Friday night at Agganis Arena. Figured I'd pass the info along if anyone else was interested.
