The two SUNY schools, Albany and Stony Brook, have made a rapid ascent in athletics since joining the ranks of D1 in 1999. They have built new arenas and football stadiums in the last 20 years and invested in their programs across the board. It has shown. In many respects these schools have passed by URI in most sports. They beat the Rams in sports such as men's football and soccer. While URI is still at a higher level in hoops, it is worth noting Rhody has not gone to the tournament since they went D1 while they both have. In fact, Albany has made five trips in that span.

I like both those schools as future A-10 possibilities....
