Bamford was able to put together a six-game home schedule and six road games that will help compensate for the lost $850,000 MAC payout. UMass will receive $1.5 million to open the season at Florida, an additional $1.25 million to play at South Carolina and a combined $650,000 for trips to Hawaii and BYU.

Umass is improving. They still have a logistics problem.
Most fans are in Eastern MA, and do they want to drive to Amherst? Gillette which is a great facility is to far from campus and maybe to big.
Can UMass hope to get into the AAC? If the AAC loses Houston, Cincinnati, do you really want to be in the AAC?

Even if they get into the AAC gillette is too big by at least a third and playing that far from campus is a terrible idea even if most of the alumni now live in the Boston area.
As for if they would want to be in the AAC, they'd absolutely be thrilled if they end up in the same conference as Temple and UConn.

3 of the most impressive performances this past Saturday were:
Houston beating #3 Ranked Oklahoma was a very powerful statement and the timing could not have been better!!!!
- Houston was 13.5 point dogs at kickoff to #3 Nationally Ranked Oklahoma and outright beat the Sooners by 10!!
- Houston HC is promised a $5,000,000 bonus if Houston gets into a P5 conference
- Oklahoma is a powerful member of the Big 12
- Big 12 already has Texas, Texas Tech, Baylor, TCU plus nearby Oklahoma and Oklahoma State
UMASS giving #25 Ranked Florida all they could handle at SEC Florida
- UMASS started as 35 point underdogs then 36.5 at kick off
- Florida led by only 10-7 at the start of the 4th Quarter. They scored 14 points in the 4th to win by 24-7 but a much closer game than expected
- UMASS has SEC Mississippi State and SEC South Carolina on their schedule as well
- Putting themselves in good position for wherever a P5 Opening might occur or to a lesser AAC conference.
- A strong season for UMASS good open some doors for them that almost nobody expected 6 months ago
South Alabama beating SEC Mississippi State
- South Alabama did not even have a football team until 2009!!!!
