Got to love this comment from Fleming..........

“I think it’s shocking to listen to the positive reactions from the high school coaches and the college coaches when I was down at the [American Football Coaches Association] convention,” Fleming said. ”‘Holy smokes, you’ve turned!’ But we had three wins. Everybody is seeing this thing.”

and

“The picture was cleared up by Dec. 20,” URI coach Jim Fleming said. “At that point in time we had four guys committed and we had a very legitimate pool.”

“We told every one of those kids to come in ready to play against Delaware,” Fleming said, referencing the 2018 season opener. “We’ll see how they come in physically ready to do that, then we’ll line them up in the summer and see where it goes.”

Additional Quotes from the Head Coach...........

"The message from staff was the time is now. We feel as though we've put a four-year foundation down that is rock solid. We've gotten progressively closer and closer to our goal which is to win a CAA Conference Championship.”

Fleming talked about the praises that he has for his Director of Football Operations, Brandon Tuolozzo for his hard work, and how flexible he has been through this long process. He also thanked Chris Satoh (Assistant Director Football Ops, Video Coordinator) and Richard Johnson (strength and conditioning) among others. Fleming also took this time to introduce the team’s newest coaching addition, Donovan Varner, who will be in charge of coaching Wide Receivers.
Before the introduction of the 22 signees, Fleming remarked the successes of the basketball program. He then compared CAA conference foe Villanova, to URI. “Villanova has won a national championship at both basketball and football. There’s no reason that we can’t do that either. With the right people doing the right things, it is definitely possible.”

Is that the top CAA kid on the list? That's impressive. The recruiting sites list him as a center, but on film they have him all over the line.

Yes, He was the Top CAA kid among the Top 25. Only James Madison had a WR in the Top 25 at #21

Some perspective, last year URI did not have a single player listed in the Top 250.

The Top 250 for 2018 will be issued February 21.

Not really Top 73% because that list includes all FCS and FBS Schools. Looking at Schools within just the CAA URI is 3rd with only James Madison and Villanova ahead of them.
