SB punches it in to take the lead with 10 minutes left. Can the offense put a drive together?

Another TD for SBU to extend the lead to 11. Defense just ran out of gas... Their offensive line started to get a push, running backs falling forward and getting extra yards after breaking arm tackles. The offense couldn't stay on the field, and the defense was tired down the stretch. Not going to win many games with 98 yards with 4 minutes to go.

This game was right there again for Rhody to win. The O stunk. Defense finally wore down.
I put this game on the receivers -they do not run thru the pattern, drop balls, not fearless enough across middle,etc..
Some of the WRs have plenty of experience. OC loves to run Coop up the middle as always.

There was a football game yesterday?

Notice how the threads have gotten shorter each week...so sad.

Not sure it's "so sad" since most of what made threads longer before we're negative nelly comments.

This Game was played before a record crowd for Stonybrook football of 12,221. Stonybrook is unbeaten in CAA play and got all it could handle from URIs defense not scoring their two touchdowns until the 4th quarter. URI was in this road game, against a record homecoming crowd and against a solid CAA team all the way.
Many impressive performances by freshmen and sophomores especially on the defensive end.
Kicking game for field goals and punts continues to be a bright spot.
Stonybrook has a pair of impressive running backs that URIs defense had a tough time stoping - the two guys are in fact cousins.

Some info on the starting 22 players for each team on Saturday:
Freshmen: URI 5 including 4 on offense with two on the offensive line. SB 1
Sophomores: URI 7. SB 5
Juniors: URI 7. SB 13
Seniors: URI 3. SB 3

We gave SB a tough game on their field on homecoming day with their best crowd ever over 12,000
Our offense struggled but we start 4 freshmen and 3 sophs in our starting 11

This year's recruiting year will again be important. Excellent experience being gained by our 5 starting freshmen and 7 starting sophomores.

Give this HC 2 more years

What will happen with the QB position next year? Rumor is Mroz would apply for a redshirt waiver.... Will we bring in a JUCO to compete for the job alongside Jordan and Wes?

Ramster - I agree but the lack of signs of life from the offense is very concerning.

Don't forget, in addition to starting all these freshman, the team was missing the leading passer (Mroz) rushing yards (Anderson) and the leading receiver in catches (Mckeeman).

They have to develop some quality depth, since it seems like [every year] their best skill players get hurt for long stretches....

Also their leading passer was third on the depth chart at the start of the season. That seems like a giant red flag. Did this staff do a poor job of coaching up qb 1 and 2 or do they just not know how to evaluate that position?

Well if Fleming can't evaluate QB play, then what hope is there going forward?

URI needs a staff that can maximize the talent they have.....if not then what?

Again, you hire on the cheap, you can't expect miracles......
