Sure sounds like it.

Additionally, he's not listed on the prelim 2016 roster.

Second team all conference O-lineman.

Can't blame him. I like the 5th year transfer rule, so not going to complain about it now.

Over rated.
Lived off past reputation.
Just went thru motions last year.

Good bye.

This is such a joke. If he stayed for next year, you'd be on here creaming yourself about how great he is, and how he would lead our much improved offensive line, and how that offensive line would lead us back to the promised land and on and on and on.

Rhowdy- you must be related to him.
He was lazy last year.

Regardless of how "lazy" he was, others think they can light a fire under his ass.
ACC, Big 12 teams' walk-ons could give Rhody, well, a defeat.

"Lazy" he made second team all conference and was a team captain. Tired of losing? Probably. Lazy? Absurd. That laziness got him 6 D1 offers and 2 from power 5 conference teams to come in and start right away. Maybe you should go ahead and rewatch the film. This is from an unbiased observer.

Georgia just squeaked by Nichols, a bad FCS team, at home and were favored by 55 points.

- The offensive line play has been awful. Pass blocking hasn't been very good. The run blocking has been even worse. Dyshon Sims has two holding penalties and the duo of Isaiah Wynn and Tyler Catalina on the left side has struggled mightily in the run game.

Georgia rushed for 289 yards in its opening week win over North Carolina, an ACC team that went 11-3 last year and 8-0 in conference. You must have missed that game, Ramster.

Tyler Catalina is gone. He moved on to a better opportunity with an SEC team that's regularly in the top-15 of the FBS. It's the sourest of grapes to post anything about his final season of college football, especially the nonsense you just subjected us to.

Yeah good thing we got rid of this guy!! With how great our team is, he would have totally just been holding us back!

Hal,
I think it has to be a huge adjustment to go from OL at URI to OL at any P5 School, especially SEC Schools like Georgia. The fact that he won the starting job and started 12 of 13 games says something in itself.
Here is an interesting article on the Catalina family and how they traveled to see all of his games throughout his life, including at Georgia. Pretty dedicated family.
I wish him luck with his goal to play in the NFL. I think the only NFL Offensive Lineman to have played for URI was Jeff Williams, is that correct? Would be nice to claim Tyler as well.

It sounds like Catalina did well at Georgia - good for him, and I won't be surprised if he makes an NFL team. But what I will always remember him for is not giving his all during his Junior year and that as a Captain of his team he constantly told his teammates during the season that he couldn't wait to leave URI. He was a cancer on the team and giving him the honor of being Captain was a big mistake by Fleming.

Uncle Ed,
Was it known that this was going on? Could he have been counseled about his behavior? Was he? Losing makes for tough environments from a morale standpoint so for sure it can't be easy to have good morale the way our record has been, but still, Captains need to lead by example.

Players definitely knew during the season that he was planning on leaving the team. The coaches did not know his intentions. I believe he had every right to move on - but he needed to keep his intentions quiet until after the season - especially given he was a Captain. Losing takes its toll and it is hard on players - that is when a good Captain makes a difference.

Wow. Good for him.

Among the notable players cut on Saturday were third-year pro Arie Kouandjio, a 2015 fourth-round pick who was expected to compete for the starting left guard job. But Kouandjio never made the leap coaches expected and undrafted rookie Tyler Catalina won the final offensive line position and will serve as the backup to right guard Shawn Lauvao and Brandon Scherff.
Offensive line (8): Tackles Trent Williams, Morgan Moses and Ty Nsekhe; guards Shawn Lauvao, Brandon Scherff and Tyler Catalina; centers Spencer Long, Chase Roullier

Sixth-round pick Chase Roullier could start for the season opener if Long hasn’t returned from arthroscopic knee surgery in time. Otherwise, the starting five will remain intact and aim to build on last year’s showing where they established themselves as one of the better units in the league. Catalina, a 6-6, 325-pound undrafted rookie out of Georgia, won a three-way competition with Kouandjio and fellow rookie Kyle Kalis. Catalina’s ability to play guard and tackle helps. Kalis could return on the practice squad.

And just the day before this Washington Post Writer predicted Catalina would not make the team......

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/foo ... 77fc4ec915

Offensive line (8): Tackles Trent Williams, Morgan Moses, Ty Nsekhe; guards Shawn Lauvao, Brandon Scherff, Kyle Kalis; centers Spencer Long, Chase Roullier
This group displayed improvement against the run in the third preseason game, but they’re still working to regain their 2016 form. Roullier is a lock after proving himself capable of starting in place of Long. And Kalis continued to play ahead of third-year player Arie Kouandjio, and he’s better than Tyler Catalina. So, he’s your backup swing guard. The remaining question: Does Vinston Painter, who gave up just one sack during the preseason, sneak on as a ninth lineman?

and maybe this opened up the opportunity for Catalina.....

The offensive line is in a slump
If there was anything the Redskins took for granted entering camp, it was a solid offensive line. Instead, only right tackle Morgan Moses has played consistently well. Defenders have slipped past Pro Bowl right guard Brandon Scherff and left guard Shawn Lauvao, while Pro Bowl left tackle Trent Williams has sometimes struggled on the edge. Center Spencer Long is out as he recovers from arthroscopic knee surgery, but backup Chase Roullier, a rookie, was solid in his preseason start. Maybe this unit just needs the Eagles to jolt it back into form in the season opener Sept. 10.
