New PawSox Stadium, can it host A-10 Baseball Championships?

Unread post by OBRAM »

The A-10 has had baseball at Dodd Field in Norwich in 2004, I think it could have it at a new baseball Park in Providence.

I am not saying it is in the works, just think it could be a venue if it is built. Why McCoy was not ever considered, I don't know why. I think a stadium in Prov would be more attractive, more hotels, restaurants. I am not even saying I am in favor, just saying , if built it would be a good location for the A-10.

Are you hearing rumors of that happening or is that an idea that you have? Frankly if they were going to use a Providence stadium, I don't see why they wouldn't be using Pawtucket already.

I said this in the other thread. The Durham Bulls stadium hosts the ACC tourney. I would imagine the providence stadium would hope to match the quality of that stadium.

In some of the initial reports, it was mentioned that Brown and Bryant might play football there. Brown makes sense as it is right across the river and some of the school's land may be needed for the preferred site.

Baseball stadiums for the most part are not configured well for football. There are thanksgiving games played at McCoy and much of the seating is pretty far from the field as it is mainly situated in the outfield.
