URI star Badecki, 30, dies
David Badecki, a former Atlantic 10 All-Conference player at the University of Rhode Isalnd, died Monday in his native Poland, URI announced Thursday. He was 30. Badecki played for the Rams from 2004 to 2007 and helped lead the Rams to Atlantic 10 championships in 2005 and 2006. Badecki’s parents, Dolores and Andrzej, are collecting new and gently used soccer equipment to donate in Badecki’s memory. Information on donating is available at gorhody.com.
