Dear URI Sailing alum,
As we head into 2014 we have had to come to the conclusion that we can’t get another season out of our jibs They are shot! We are in the process of ordering new jibs for the spring, but need to raise the money. Jibs are $300 each and we need 18! Please consider Adopting a Jib for the holiday season. Our new jibs will be adorned with the names of their “proud parents” so please consider adding one or more to your family. Multiple parents are allowed for a jib, and we will assist in putting extended families together. A $100 contribution is the minimum to be listed as a proud parent, but any contributions of $50 or more will be graciously acknowledged by the University and are tax deductible.
We are also replacing the windows in our current jibs and they will be used on nukin’ days so that your adopted jibs will last a bit longer.
In making this late in the year request, I need to apologize for the lateness of “In The Groove”. It is nearly complete with lots of news, but won’t make it in 2013. We are also in the process of building a new website with alumni assistance. We know that news has been hard to come by and are moving to make things happen with much greater frequency in the future.
