This is tough being able to pick only 4.
I have to go with Joe Casey - especially on toughness alone.
Moser, Pat Abruzzi and Molly McGee for sure............
but I have a very tough time leaving Leroy Shaw off the team. Shaw was tremendous.

I never saw Pat Abruzzi play, but by just reading about him he may be the best, I think he turned down a NFL offer to play for Montreal in the Canadian League.
How about Mudge?

Mudge was from the leather=helmet era, but was considered a legendary athlete in Westerly, where he became a teacher, then school principal. It would be hard to measure him against some of the latter day running backs.OBRAM wrote:I never saw Pat Abruzzi play, but by just reading about him he may be the best, I think he turned down a NFL offer to play for Montreal in the Canadian League.

(FWIW, Mudge told me to cut my Beatle-style hair back in 1964, when I was in 7th grade and he was prinicpal of my junior high )

Mudge was great but it is going to,be tough for the old timers.
Cal Whitfield,Brian Morris,Steve Caizzi, Doug Haynes were great and are not even on the list.
Anthony Ferrer was excellent also a few years ago.
Many of these guys were not used enough or only played a few years.
Look at Doug Haynes,Remondino and Leroy Shaws career stats. Basically only fresh and soph. years.
URI has too many guys not finish. I bet their carry over from freshmen to seniors is one of the lowest # of players in the conference?
