Wow, you would think you could get more seats than 5,000+ for $90 Million.

Re: RPI D3 Football Stadium
Upon further review, the 90 million dollars amount is correct but it was for the entire East Campus Complex which included the football stadium along WITH a new gym. That is still some serious money for athletics at a school that competes at the D3 level except for hockey which has a separate facility.Hal Kopp wrote:$9M-yes!
$90M -probably a typo.

Re: RPI D3 Football Stadium
Many schools who have sizable endowments seem to be funding capital projects at this time. Construction costs will probably rise quickly when the economy turns.
......I was told that by an alumni, that RPI's athletic project was funded in part from their sizable endowment.
......I was looking at a list of U.S. college endowments and was surprised to see that many were down 2012 vs. 2011, inspite of 2011 being a decent year for investments..
2012 - RPI Endowment 583 million, U.S. rank #132
2012 - URI Endowment 94 million, U.S. rank #411
