Re: Week #12 Games of Interest / Rest of 2022 Season
The Friars are 15 spots BEHIND US in adjusted defense, and have "just" the 30th best adjusted offensive rating per KenPom. That puts them at #39 overall -- amazing gap between that and their AP rank. https://twitter.com/GoodmanHoops/status/1493732663072415745 Hmmm what's more believable -...

The thing is, PC literally did not play who was on their schedule. @ Creighton, @ Seton Hall, home UConn were on the schedule and PC did not play them. In case you haven't heard there was a pandemic going on with which they had no control over. The Big East was responsible for making up games and d...

Your second paragraph then just proves how lucky PC actually is. If it doesn’t take into account injured players and missing games, and PC is STILL ranked first, imagine if it did take those factors into account? Would be the luckiest team of all time. Wisconsin- first team All American out UConn -...

I mean your are statistically the luckiest team in the country, by a decently wide margin. That’s not me saying that, that’s Kenpom. If I’m a providence fan, I’m worried about if you’re battled tested enough. Most good teams you played, and specifically good teams you beat, weren’t at full strength...

Reeves only missed a total of 5 games thanks to 3 cancelled games that month (which you never made up). 4 of those 5 games were against the bottom half of your conference. If anything your point only amplifies further luck of the timing of his injury. Providence is having a historic season. No one ...

100%. I really don’t understand why they can’t just embrace how lucky they’ve been. Turn it into a “team of destiny” sort of thing. Their collective fanbase is just the worst. I am endlessly entertained by Providence’s season. They’re winning a lot of games but have also had some tremendous good fortune. Both things can be true. They needed 5 overtimes to beat DePaul, Xavier, and Butler. They aren’t making up games against the 3rd, 4th, and 6th place teams in the confere...

Hurley had EC on board his first recruiting cycle a 4* guard along with Hass. The next year he had JT another 4* guard. Whoever we hire will be judged against that record. Cox has recruited actually no one. He hasn't brought anyone from a hs standpoint that was close to a 4* prospect. It's not unre...

Archie Miller would definitely be a grand slam type of hire were it to happen. If RI were to can Cox they should not even fool around and offer Miller the same contract they offered Hurley before he left. If he doesn't bite you move on.

Just like Kevin Ollie won a title in his first 2 years and then hit the skids once his players/methods/abilities took hold. Everything Cox did well was because of Jeff Dowtin and Cyril Langevine. I really think a new tournament with power conferences only is BS. At the end of the day, most of the Sweet 16 and beyond are made up of the PC schools anyway. Having a "core four" that stayed together for 4 years, like we had under Hurley, is not likely to ever happen here again. And Rick Pitino cobbles together a group of transfers at the last minute, and is likely to dance already. And some say coaching in college BB isn't that important? You...
