It’s pretty common for the new coaching staff to retain at least one of the assistants. Dan kept Preston. One of Archie’s assistants was retained at Indiana. It’s common.

I think the A-10 would need to be constructed differently to bring back 3+ bids on a regular basis. It's far too bottom heavy. You almost need to start a new conference with 8-10 schools without the Dusquenes and Fordhams to drag you down. Goal is to get to as many Q1 conference teams by time confer...

It sounds crazy but I wouldn’t be totally opposed to it. It would definitely put a spotlight on URI hoops nationally and would probably attract a few recruits out of our league. Whether that actually translates to winning or is just a complete disaster is probably 30/70 slanted towards disaster.

If you fire him now you have a head start on the coaching search. No coach worth his salt is going to avoid a job because you fired someone mid season in their 4th year of not making the tourney after losing to fordham and umass. If they did, they’re not someone you’d want to hire.
