Better RPI, better SOS, 3 more wins against the 0'fer that we had against the top 50 for starters...Keep in mind if we're a 2 or 3 seed, they aren't THAT much better than us...who cares as long as we're in the field.

Re: A10 gets screwed as per usual
This was actually par for the course throughout the entire season. If you followed projected brackets, the A10 got little respect all season. Whether it's warranted or not, is up to you. But it shouldn't be a shock today that the A10 got a subpar draw. It's been the consensus the entire year b/c of ...

Moten, being a Spartan lifer as well, you're right about navigating the pitfalls of the Big Ten. Not saying they'll win any titles while he's there, they certainly won't. But to be part of that middle pack of Iowa/Indiana/Illinois/Minnesota isn't a stretch. They have a solid freshman core this year ...

You're crazy if you don't think Bembry deserves 1st team. He's arguably the best and most talented player in the league, just plays on a crap team. I'd say averaging 18/8/4 a game is 1st team worthy, he does everything for Joe's. Agreed about Weber, that award was due to the culmination of his caree...

I guess I should've clarified. It's based on full body of work, that's the emphasis this year. That alone will be enough for an at-large. My point was that when viewing them without Weber, I don't think they're "deserving" of getting in, the team as it stands right now. Simply put, they ar...

Can we change the title of this to "Best In Living Color skits"? Seems pointless to beat a dead horse, anything other than a trophy on Sunday means we aren't announced on Selection Sunday.

Purdue is 3-5 vs. the top 50 and 9-9 vs. the top 100. One of their "bad" losses is to North Florida, who won their conference and is dancing. Not to mention a higher RPI and SOS. We have a big fat goose egg in one of the most important criteria on the selection sheet. Record vs. top 50 RPI...

We don't have a single win against the top 50. We didn't beat a "tournament quality" team all season. Just hoist that trophy on Sunday and we'll be all smiles. Otherwise, get ready to make the trek to the RC for an NIT home game.

As I'm about to hit submit, he fires up a 3 and misses. Man, I'm glad I'm not a Kent St. fan.

Hoiberg's system is as NBA a style of offense as you'll find in the college game (outside of maybe D'Antoni's run and gun at Iona). I did notice today though, unlike in our first matchup, that Wright did a lot more work with his body burying Hassan further underneath the basket. IMO, that's the only way you beast Hassan inside. According to the official NCAA Selection sheet, league play in itself is not a deciding factor. Full body of work is, however VCU should be looked at post-Weber's injury. Re: Hassan Martin
I believe you can call a time-out in between free throws. It's technically a dead-ball situation. You can sub players in and out, so a timeout is legal too. The issue in that case was, the timeout was called once the ball went into Hassan's hands. At that point, it's no longer a dead-ball situation....

Sean, FT's aside, Nova was the better team tonight. Also, when they shoot 13-25 from 3, you're unlikely to beat them. Unlike the A-10, they are the clear cut favorite in the Big East. But yeah, you think Pinkston and Hilliard were going to lose on Senior night?

Santa Clara and GTech came through unguaranteed games in a tournament. Southern Miss was a home and home (previous year Southern Miss was a borderline tournament team). Brown is an annual game no? Opening line is out and we are favored by 2. That's strictly because of home court with a spread that low, almost a toss-up in terms of how Vegas views the 2 teams on a neutral floor.
