Petro shouldn't have been in charge, plain and simple. I was a student at URI at the end of his tenure, and I knew him. I thought he was plain dumb.

My question to those who on this board who were close to these events. What were the boosters saying? Was everyone saying to keep Harrick? I'm only wondering because it seems strange Petro would take his offer off of the table and thus send Harrick packing. Did he do that alone, or were there others...

Rod, being a lifer assistant at Syracuse is quite different that being a lifer assistant at URI - I would imagine.

I have to think we have Dan for 3 more years at least. The team would need to show some serious on-court success for him to make another school up his pay.

I remember K-Mac writing that URI fans don't realize that was closest URI was ever going to get to the Final Four. I thought it was a bum statement 15 years ago, but is sure has some truth to it considering where we are now.

PC's last chance was beating Nova last night. They didn't.....now they would have to make quite a run through the tourney, which I think is difficult for a team that only plays 6-7 guys. The back to back nature of conference tourney's is not in their favor.

EC Matthews is going to be a 1st team all-conference player by his senior year, Hassan Martin is showing some real potential. These guys are just freshmen. Let's give them a little bit of a break.

I like the fact that Aaman works hard. However, I think he is highly over-rated by many on this board. Yes, we need depth down low this year, but for him to take a scholarship next year, instead of bringing in a guy we can develop for 4 years is a complete waste.

A coach telling a kid to get lost happens more than you think. If Hurley needed Powell's scholarship, he probably told him to find another school. Baron did it with Chris Holm, although it was never reported publicly that's how it went down.

Our guys have been getting beat to the hoop with regularity this year, remember the fire-hydrant from SLU, he got to the rim every possession during that game. It's not just the man-up D that stinks, I've noticed this team is horrible at coming over to help. That needs to improve as well.

Every single entry in the contest has a very good chance of shooting missing the win total on the high side. The worst predicted records need URI to win 6 of their remaining 13 games. They have 2 against UMass, and one at VCU. So they really need to go 6-4 outside of those games.
