Re: Men's Basketball Transfer Carousel and Portal - 2024-25
Never mind the casual fan, but when even the diehards are starting to bail, the alarm bells should be sounding in Thorrs and Parlanges offices. If Archie is unwilling to adapt and adjust, and continue to force a defensive philosophy that isnt working on his team, maybe change is needed sooner than l...

ECR and78, same here.
This isnt fun anymore.
Will always be a fan, but not worth the angst watching us suck every year.
If this doesn't turn around in a couple of years max, I'm out.

Archie I'm sure knows he's gone, and with him Hammond and Farrell.
With us openly recruiting PG's, it's now obviousl to me also.
Maybe this will work out for us in the long run, in the short run not so much.

Going after better talent that already has had good D1 mid major experience.
That's the way to go.
The NIL fund must be getting big enough to go after these types of players.
Now for the hard part.

Well 78, the players we had this year couldn't learn it.
Lack of effort and ability combined.
Maybe if the new players are talented enough, they could play it better?
If not I doubt Archie will change, that's a problem.

With the news that Clemson is also sueing to get out of the ACC, it's clear imo that they and Florida St will end up in the SEC.
Just a matter of time.
If UConn wants to save their FB program they will then need to join the ACC, for all sports.
If they are invited of course.

Every top team has stumbled a few times this season.
Even UConn threw in a stinker against Creighton.
I expect multiple upsets. The ones who are predicting all 4 one seeds to make the FF are definitely smoking something good.

I hope to hell that we dont end up overpaying for the scraps we are likely to get.
The staff is going to have to absolutely ACE the recruits we do get. Late bloomers under rated types.
In other words, do a lot better job recruiting that has been done so far, save for Hammond.

Concerning our NIL fund level, since it was known to be 400k a while ago, how much goes to the mens program versus the womens? I'm guessing at 75% to the mens, at least. Would like it to be 8 since Luis is likely to leave.
Any less than 8 remaining will make it tough to bring all quality talent.

P5 teams have more money to offer than we do, in most cases anyway.
Those 2 are leaving not only for more money, but to join a program who is more likely to make the tournament.
That's what we and similar programs are up against.
