RPI forecast has URI favored by 2.5 with 59% chance of winning St Joe's Board http://mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=439&f=4542 KenPom has them about 3.5 pts better than this so I imagine this game will be closer to a pick. I didnt pay for his site this year so dont know the individual game prediction.

Awesome start. Looks like the refs are gonna let them play a bit and try to keep things moving. I think that is in our favor. Thought it was funny that they changed the full timeout to a 20.

I graduated in 08 and I have maybe 1 friend who lives in RI and has a decent job. Everyone else with a good gig is either in Boston, NY or elsewhere. I know I have never seen any promising opportunities in RI myself...

We are 0-8 in our last 8 road games against the spread too. Some interesting trends. We generally exceed expectations as a home team and a favorite and have vastly under preformed expectations as a road team and underdog.

Assuming that Vegas is an efficient market predictor, we have definitely under-achieved this year. We are something like 5-11 against the spread. Interesting to note, not only have we not won a game as an underdog in over a year, we haven't even covered against the spread as an underdog.

I don't know, or care, about the NIT. But, my feeling is that there is better chance of a Patriots offensive lineman making the Pro Bowl than us getting an at-large bid to the tournament. I think Martin coming back would be huge. Vegas opened this 3.5 and it has crept up to URI -4.5, while the total has fallen from 143 to 142. Nothing huge, but I think both are signs that bettors think Martin plays?

If he doesn't I certainly like that Richmond +4.5...

That's not actually true in NCAA bball, sharp money way outweighs the public, the books aren't worried about the public money is split, they are worried about the guy betting ten dimes.

Not touching it at URI -3, maybe thats a half point high or so but I was kinda hoping they would get it wrong given the nationally televised game, ranked opponent, etc.

Oh well, I've come to realize that Vegas literally never opens more than 1-2 pts off where KenPom's implied line is.

In the other thread someone mentioned PC would be a 2 pt favorite, I called my friends bookie in case that was actually how it set up because Vegas has the line perfect. Kenpom had uri rated slightly higher, add 3 for home ct and this is exactly what's expected.

Ha, yea I figured it was a long shot as most who would be interested enough for a meet-up would likely be in Kingston, maybe I'll shoot down on Amtrak and try to find a single.
