Dan Hurley himself said that we're going to have to rely on the perimeter game because we have no post game. This is the coach who is working with these kids every day in practice. Give the kid a chance. He is finally receiving the coaching he never had last year. Although come Sunday (if) we go 0-2 at Mohegan I am sure Rod and others will be calling for Hurleys head. Difficult to compare given it is so early in season, but Va Tech has the edge in having home court advantage, they recruit ACC caliber players, they have a bigger back court than URI, and their starting guards can shoot - Robert Brown and Eric Green showed a combined 50% shooting against E. Like us, they have a new coach and a lot of new players, so hard to predict what this team will be like. But, they do still have Erick Green, one of the best players in the ACC. At 6'3", he's a big sized PG and could be a matchup problem for Powell. They are not a big team though, with no one o...

I hate to criticize the coach, but....when you have a 3 point lead with a few seconds left, you do not let the opposing team even attempt a 3 point shot. The players should have been told this. One other stat stuck out for me. 4 guys played betweem 32-36 minutes. That's going to have to stay the same all year. We thought we had depth problems at the big positions. But, we're playing 3 different guys at the 5. That leaves only TJ and Bigby to back up the other 4 spots.

Quite the opposite. Bob Hurely preaches what Hoopz said. Be aggressive without fouling. If you're in foul trouble, you can't play aggressively, and therefore hurt the team. Watching this team, if I'm an opposing coach, I'd jam the ball down low all night. Brooks will get some minutes, by default. A...
