What makes things a lot worse, is that not only is the system completely broken, our program is so far behind in talent and results. We might have an NIL fund that ranks fairly high compared to our peers, but our results aren't showing shit at this point. We need to add 3-4 impact players in the nex...
If we are going to continue to suck, which is looking more likely by the day, maybe URI should shitcan the coach and hire a guy off the street who couldn't do any worse than this slop we are being subjected to.
Still not announced? Kenny just started following Oumar Ballo. He's certainly not recruiting him to URI. It's pretty clear, at least to me, that he's already working for Georgetown. that's ok though. We have some guy that averaged 1 point and 1 rebound per game visiting and are fighting a bunch of ...
The vast dollar amount of donations to the program here at least, are from a select few very affluent boosters. That's on a year to year basis. The rest is made up of a bunch of small donors like us. URI does not have many big donors nor a large fan base. That is not going to change, unfortunately.
We aren't orbiting anything, we've burned up in the atmosphere. Stealth recruiting my ass, not only nothing is happening we're still wondering if KJ is leaving along with Hammond. Again wake me if we pick up a couple promising transfers. Like Judge Smails said in the movie Caddyshack, "well we'...
I think yesterday will be UConn’s toughest game. Beyond the Clingan of it all they are too good for 1 guy to beat them and 1 thru 4 UConn on paper has a big advantage. Guys like Loyer and Smith are gonna struggle with UConn’s length and athleticism I think. Making entry passes to Edey is going to b...
Imagine having an NBA point guard on your roster and playing him off the ball so a sub 30% shooter could jack up 6 a game. That all stemmed from the deal to make Cox the coach in waiting. Mistake by both Dan and URI they both share the blame for that one. Also likely the reason why Fatts had free r...
How good are things now with KJ? I would agree if he leaves and takes Hammond with him, but if he leaves and Ben stays, dont see it as a big loss. What has Archie done to this point? As far as I'm concerned, we're at or very near the bottom as a program right now. It can't get much worse no matter w...
That's what we are up against even in our own conference. Btw, EC came here to help build a program, he said so himself. The core 4 so to speak, all stayed here and it paid off after a few years. Does anyone think these kids today would say or do the same in this environment? I stand by my comment t...
I'm going to guess that if we want to compete at the top of the A10, it will cost a million a year or more. At least 100k average for a high level A10 starter. That's 500k for the starting 5. And this is for the A10. Who gives a fuck how good a recruiter you are anymore? You will have one recruiting...
Hammond could be another Tyson Wheeler, unfortunately he probably will be that for a P5 school by the time he's a junior or senior. If he's really good as a freshmen he's as good as gone soon after, unless we can throw a huge pile of money at him, and even that might not be enough. We are ultimately...
I probably will have to end my donation to athletics in the near future in order to continue my contribution to the collective. Will get harder to do both. The older I get, the less money I got. If the only way for us to get better is to pay the players directly then that's what I will do, although ...
The biggest problem Archie will have, is trying to convince good players to come to a program that's been down in the dumps for a while now. It's not just about money, at least I hope not. The building a program angle like Dan did here, isnt very relevant anymore however. That meant signing and keep...
