You know what this all boils down to?

If you're going to have a CAA football program, do what it takes to have a respectable CAA football program, or don't do it AT ALL.

URI isn't doing that. Either do it, or lose it.

URI COULD figure out a way to get this done without state bonds...but will they?

They don't need $54 million either. They just need the will to do so....right now? Nope.

$15 million for a new East stands, another $5-10 million for lights, turf, practice facilities.

RF1, I have no problem with keeping football. But NOT in the current state it's in. The school seems unwilling or unable to provide the program with the necessary commitments to make it even reasonably competitive with it's local brethren. There may be a couple of games where that happens again this season, but it looks like starting in 2016 that will no longer be the case....

As a big game coach [as in NCAA's] he didn't exactly cover himself in glory, especially last year against Dayton....

I think he relys heavily on his assistants, maybe more so than most head coaches....

In my mind the PC game is almost a must win for us.

Last season, PC was the 2nd best RPI after Kansas. This season, they're down the list a bit, but will certainly be at least a top 100 RPI game, and it's at home. 'Nuff said......

As to the cost of a new stadium, just replacing the East stands would cost at least 15 mil or so, and that's on the cheap.
