Re: Rhody Hoops - Where We Stand
Not Rhody relevant, but Aflakpui has had knee surgery and will miss a big part of his senior season. He's a guy who needs all the experience he can get. I think a few of the comments here are a bit too strong with regards to the specific type of player that Hurley will recruit. Not necessarily at Rh...

Re: Rhody Hoops - Where We Stand
Shaka Smart also inherited a team that had been to, in the 6 years before him, 2 NIT and 3 NCAA tournaments. He's great and has certainly elevated that program but the quality of the situation he inherited is often overlooked.

Re: Rhody Hoops - Where We Stand
I think just that we can reasonably talk about getting onto the bubble and scenarios for an at-large represents a major jump for the program. It is paradoxically both impossible and easy to forget how far away we've been from that, and for how long. I think realistically the NIT is squarely in the ...

I'm watching them play right now. Ponitka appears to be about 6 inches tall, but that's probably the tv's fault. He can handle the ball, but I wouldn't say he's the pure pg type. Obviously, Ben Simmons is the best player on the floor.

One thing that can't go without saying is the team chemistry. Even Howland commented on how our team really seems to pull for each other and enjoy playing together. Look no further than to Iffy, who has lost tons of PT from last year, but is always up and active during the game. Great point- that s...

Yes, do this, please:
“When you go into league and play road games at places like Saint Louis — who are the defending conference champions, who have a culture of winning and an expectation of winning once they get to league play — you’ve got to go there and you’ve got to beat it out of them.”

Saint Louis will likely have a rough season, but those kinds of years are easier to handle when it's a down season in a good program with young players and not just more of the same. Here's Abu Bakr's game preview. Love that picture of Biggie. http://www.coxhub.com/articles/rams-open-conference-play...

There are approximately 42 fans at that Fordham game.
Always nice to hear DiSano's thoughts on the A10, and Rhody benefits from having him close to the program.

Some believe Earl has benefited from being used in the right situations by the coaching staff. Has that somehow made him look better than he is? or is it that compared to say a guy like Jarelle, looking back to last year of course, Earl hasn't been asked to do things outside of his comfort zone? If...

I disagree. You put a guy in and you and Ace are implying that his time is cherry-picked so he can look good? Wow! That's total nonsense. You put a sub in, because the starter isn't doing his job,or he's in foul trouble, or needs a rest. Watson has produced, because he has talent, not because Dan i...

As much as everyone hates the Georgia Tech loss, these players took something away from that. An object lesson in the value of every possession and consistency can be a good takeaway from a...

Seems like a "thing" now that TJ is paired with Jarvis and Terrell is paired with Biggie. It is great coaching, really, but I wonder if that makes a JT/Jarvis starting backcourt (like everyone has been assuming is inevitable) somewhat unlikely at all this year. If Biggie can play like the...

Detroit was still a good win. They beat a team they lost to last year, contained a good player, and learned something about their own team. Nebraska was still a good win. That game was hyped, and they came through. They could have won on the last play- and should have- but didn't. They shook it off ...
