Re: 2023-24 Schedule (top post is current)
It’s tough recruiting high school players now if you are not in a Power 6 conference. If they pan out or are better than expected, they will be recruited hard by the P6 conferences. The big east is part of the power 6, but they do not have quite the same resources as a whole and are also susceptible...

Re: A10 Secret Scrimmages and Charity Games
I honestly don’t remember if the scores came out last year, but seeing how bad we were last year, that was probably a good idea. What’s to hide this year, unless we were equally as unimpressive as I assume we were last year.

Agreed, I’m ok with 2-3 and maybe if all things align 4…but 1 is unacceptable and will have a long lasting negative impact on the league and member schools. Many people thought the A10 was a wanna be conference when we were getting 3-5 teams in, what are we now in their minds?

Seems like we have the same discussion every season…and the answer is always the same…win. I don’t blame the kids, really what fun is it to go watch a crappy team lose and lose and lose. I certainly don’t go to as many games when we suck.

Re: Understanding the NIL
You are right RJ. I actually did say when all this started that there is an opportunity here for some of the big donors to step in and improve the trajectory of our program by paying big bucks to get top players. But it appears we are just happy to pay what our peers in the A10 pay. Thus waiting for...

Thx, I agree $10k is sizable and would consider someone who donates that amount a major donor. I guess I need to get over it, but the whole thing seems so sleazy to me. It would seem to me that concerts or other events at either Meade or the Ryan would make most sense during the summer when south county is most active and parking wouldn’t be an issue on campus. There are tons of mid sized venues all through New England that get decent shows during the summer.

I love NIL and the transfer portal! College athletics is great! It’s much better than the pros! Said no one in their right mind. Now I’m not saying the old system was great, but this is ridiculous and a 180 degree turn. There has to be something reasonable between this and where we were.
