PC - top 20 team, made the sweet 16, Cooley National COY, plays in Big East.

Re: '20 NY SG - Femi Odukale (Pittsburgh ---> ??? )
I haven't been paying too close attention to who Bryant signed, but if those players (other than Walker) signed here instead, would you consider them A10 level players and make us a contender? Same for UMass (I know a couple of the UMass signs we were also hoping for). I know it's not easy to see o...

There wasn’t a story. I guess 74 was just providing his IG link.

I think Archie said that to have cushion. Impactful players for next season will be here for the summer sessions.

Re: The Transfer Carousel - 2022
If you enter the portal after May 1st you need to have your head examined. Why risk giving up the no-sit year? The feeling is the NCAA will tighten up some on the waivers this year. There are exceptions that could justify entering after May 1st but there aren’t many.

Re: Understanding the NIL
Will this slow the transfer market, and will a team or collective get stuck with a player who underperforms? (The first part assumes the player gets paid for his complete eligibility at that school.) They get paid per year they are at the school (and eligible). Pack’s deal (Miami) is $400,000 per y...

Re: General High School Recruiting Discussion/Comments 2022-23
UNC was always the heavy favorite once Martin left South Carolina. Martin offered Jackson once he took the UMASS job but really would have been a huge upset if Jackson chose UMASS. I can’t fault any HC for aiming high, ie Lamar Odom. Jackson is from South Carolina and S.C. was in his final five fro...

Unfortunately I don’t think there is an archetype when it comes to a transfer succeeding at their next stop. If only it were that east. So many variances. I do agree with Iggy that I would rather roll the dice with a more highly regarded prospect from a P5 if I had the choice but there are so many ...

Jim Larranaga playing the transfer market smart again this year dipping into the Sun Belt conference to get a top player. Much like last year when he did similar with George Mason. Surprised by you Ramster. Stan Robinson at Indiana, 3 ppg. KI at Memphis, 6 ppg. You got me Iggy. I loved those two recruits right from day 1. They were great! They also had to sit a year, got to the learn the new system, mature as players by watching and improving their individual games (ie Stan n...

I mean didn’t David Cox sign 4 (Walker, Carey, Mitchell twins) a couple years ago with no NIL and with no national cache like Martin has. Cooley absolutely crushing the portal. I didn’t think he could equal last year’s success. It looks like he may have surpassed it. Didn’t play at all Freshman year then he gets brizzed to make space on the roster same day a guy is added? That didn’t happen. PC had two open spots. Plenty of room for Hopkins. Re: Understanding the NIL
Schools are forming Collectives. They seem even more direct than the exchange. Fans can pay a monthly subscription and the money gets funneled to the players. Here are two examples: Eddie Rojas, CEO of The Gator Collective and an unabashed Florida honk who went 10-1 as a pitcher for the Gators from ...

The point of my response to 72 was to compare what Cox was left to what Archie was left is asinine.
Would anyone be unhappy if Archie had Jeff, Cyril & Fatts for next year to add to incoming transfers.

Define a rebuild. It isn’t a rebuild every time a mid major makes the Tournament and then doesn’t make it the next year.
It’s also not a rebuild each year a team loses 3 of its top 6 players.

Hitching your future to Fatts or Harris or the twins would be suicidal for any coach. Archie saw it; Cox didn't. If I was a young player with talent, I wouldn't want to play for a team where the coach treated any of these players or allowed them to anoint themselves as the team leaders. Cox needed ...
