Before we (and others) annoint Bobby Hurley the next great thing for "turning around" Buffalo, please look at the job that previous coach Reggie Witherspoon did. Yes, the year before Bobby got there they were 14-20 and 7-9 in the MAC, which isn't totally dreadful. But the 4 years before: 1...

You may think Chris Collins will get Northwestern there but the reality is he'll have to climb over some very established programs and coaches to do it. I don't think Wisconsin, Michigan State, Maryland, Ohio State, Iowa, Michigan (lost 2 injured starters this year), and others will be taking a step...

URI is in the NIT. Assuming Dayton, VCU, and Davidson are in the NCAA tourney, then URI would be the highest Atlantic 10 team. They will not be left out. You can count on it like the Cubs not winning the World Series. For the record, I said winning 4 games in 4 (or 5 in 5) days is nearly impossible....

Re: A10 Tournament - General Discussion
In my years observing these conference tournaments (which I hate), the team with the BYE is actually at a disadvantage in their first game. The team coming into the game off of a win the day before had an advantage as they've already: 1) Gotten their nerves out the night before. 2) Gotten back into ...

Re: Do we win the A10 Championship?
A few things: 1) URI has shown that they are the "not ready for prime time" players. Sure they've been close in games with good teams. Close is not good enough. That's why I don't like their chances against quality opponents. They have had so many chances and haven't been able to do it. Un...

Gonebaroon, You can flip that the other way. URI could've/should'vce lost to Duquesne and Fordham...and thus the loss to St. Joe's was on par with what they were doing. Flip 2/3 games to win...and you could easily flip 2/3 games as losses (including crappy Nebraska too.). Just like with whining abou...

Regarding Dayton... 1. They are wayyyy better at home than anywhere else. Take them away from UD Arena and they come back to the pack a bit. 2. I think lack of depth/bench is an issue with 3 games and 3 days. 3. They won't be as motivated as Davidson (Davidson more bubble-licious so they need wins m...

If URI has to beat somebody good, then they have no chance. Unfortunately, those are the facts this year.

Hasaan is your best finisher. The closer to the basket he's located, the better. His best offensive attributes are being actice, dunking and rebounding. You can only do that within 4-6 feet of the rim. You do not put guys like that at the foul line.

Watching a well-oiled offense in this era of college basketball is a treat to watch. Most college offenses run high ball screens, dribble handoffs, 1-on-1, drive and kick. Blue Man...100% correct. 21-4 would mean nothing vs. 19-6. Wins over St. Joes and G-Tech are bubkis but losses to them are eye-sores. You can get rid of the Pace game too...as that is a non-Division One win.

URI is a season too late. Last year, the A-10 boosted its' conference RPI with a great non-conference run...and thus the multiple at-large bids. This year, the A-10 laid an egg in the non-conference. The NCAA tournament committee no longer looks at how you finished in the final 10 games.
