Why are other A10 programs consistently raised above URI on this board when they are basically neck and neck on the court?

I do mean maturity on the court. Things like consistency and fouls. I think Langevine took a lot of rebounds from Harris.

Idk if the assistant coaches could be better. They do have a lot of accomplishments under them. Look them up.

Harris is seriously strong. He has serious lateral quickness. Hedges hard on screens. Awesome free throw shooter. Ok finishing on the move to the basket.

His problem is Maturity. Guess what usually helps that problem? Another year. He’s got two.

I like the guys we have. I like bringing in multiple ball handlers between that 6'3-6'5 range that offer something in other areas.

Really looks like the URI type roster that we have had over the recent past.

Harris, twins, and Walker. Plus Toppin is like 7 feet tall now and can't put the ball on the deck without being stripped or falling down. His game is destined for some version of his brother's game. he will have the set shot that can keep a defense honest or pick and pop. Then throw in some dunking....

Top 10 makes more sense when there is a ton of time between then and your decision. But if you're a transfer or the decision is around the corner, it's more of a problem.

Transfers should have learned enough during their time in school to know exactly what they are looking for. Top 5 at most.

I liked what I saw but it’s ok. I really think that Cox can just find good players to play for him. The front court is just so stacked that there wasn’t immediate room for him.

He is a master recruiter obviously, which is why I don't doubt that he can fill Martin's spot or recruit him back. In basketball it seems the kids that enter the portal usually leave, but in football it is ordinary for kids to enter the portal and then end up staying.

Wow pulling the twins and them immediately available would be insane.

It would support my theory that our level will be ok in a immediate eligibility world. I rather have the Martins of the world transferring to P5 and legit NBA prospects transferring to URI because they want to dominate.

Hopefully things being shutdown don’t stop the workouts and evaluations. Seems that experience is very motivational for players.

I would expect Fatts to be better this year. And have a senior year that is stronger than any guard the last 20 years.

Agreed. IMHO facilities are important to coaches and hs recruits. I just doubt a player is worried about institutional upgrades.

If the rule passes I would expect Cox (an AAU guy) would at least survive if the college culture reflected the transfer rate of high school. He is no stranger to that.

He would just have to shift to the mindset that he had to cobble together a contender every year. C'est la vie.

Harris is awesome. He started nearly every game of his career. I would expect him to be very good this upcoming year. Too bad Martin is in the wind. Maybe Cox can recruit him back and put this whole thing together.

The other thing is, I dont think it matters that much to NBA scouts whether you play in the A-10 or ACC. The gap isnt that significant. You dont see back ups on ACC teams make it into the NBA. I think there are different reasons for all our players to transfer. The guys that go lower are looking for more opportunity. But Martin who jacked up almost 5 3balls a game? He is in a different pool of players. It's definitely not a practice facility or more shots he's looking for. Come on.

I think his playing style was team oriented. Far more than many players we have seen come and go. He basically executed on offense by taking a shot or passing the ball immediately. His bolting is obviously not.
