Re: Poll: Does Dan Hurley arguing calls help or hurt the tea
It has become all too clear that there are certain refs out there who won't give URI the benefit of the doubt when it comes to close or crucial calls. That is on Dan. I love the guy but he has to follow through with his promises to tone things down starting this coming season. There is no doubt in m...

We need to keep repeating, PG's and either PF's or C's.
I predict we will land a 2016 PG and at least one 2016 big, who will be top 100's.
This fall.
Color me optimistic on this. It's time to play with the big boys.

Makes you wonder what Cooley is doing recruiting these types of kids. Talent is great, but what they do off the court is just as important.
I would rather Dan keeps recruiting good students and good people rather than the other kind.
So far he's done a pretty good job there, eh?

Rod, a while back I talked to a couple of UConn boosters about Samuels.
They said he's got all the tools, but simply can't shoot a lick.
He would be an OK backup for Garrett, but like a lot of others, he wants more PT.

Re: 2015-16 Starting Five Predictions?
Consistency should be the goal. Almost everybody had a few games where they shot FT's well. And then there were games where they were terrible, at times all of them in the same game, the Davidson game for example. You never knew from game to game, if they were going to be good or awful. That can't r...

This team should make it a point to become a good FT shooting team.
The starting 5 should all be 70% or better, with the exception of Hassan, where 60-65% is more likely.
No excuses. Maybe Four can help tutor them.

Winning big will be a little tougher if he keeps up the sideline sideshow, however....
I'm sure he knows this, but hopefully his assistants can reign him in a little more.....he says he wants to tone it down, but then he tends to forget in the heat of the moment and off we go.........

Once you have a bad reputation with the refs, it's hard to shake it. The refs will anticipate things happening before they do. That's already happened at times imo. If Dan does really tone it down some this season, I think things will be OK. If not, especially with the new rules, there could be prob...

As for predictions, right now I'd say we're a solid top 50 pick. Of course, with the uncertainties involving so many new players, we could be as high as top 25, or possibly even out of the top 50. The latter isn't likely though, imo anyway. We know what we have with the core 4. We really don't know ...

Our score for this past season is likely to be a little lower than the 979 for the year before due to Hare imo.
Also hopefully the 3 transferring won't hurt it too much. Maybe not at all?
At least now it seems like they have a cushion to work with going forward.

I may be off base here, but I think Dan has been trying to get home-and-homes against top 50's. For URI, that's tough. When we become a perennial top 50 team, then it will be easier. For now, getting one-offs on the road is probably going to have to suffice. We've got to prove we can win some of tho...
