Agree with last post, the most inexplicable part of this awful stretch of basketball is on the defensive end. Forget getting throttled by Dayton twice where we couldn't string together 2-3 stops in a row once, but we also made offensively challenged teams like St Louis and Fordham look like Gonzaga...

Yes...our “ole” defense was terrible. What Could we expect given the circumstances of easily our top three defenders? Cyril out. Jeff injured. Fatts in foul trouble.

My hunch is that Cyril is back on Sunday, but I’d be very concerned about Jeff if the injury description is accurate.

I rewatched the end of the game and OT. Walker really struggled, the offensive foul following the Martin rebound, than misses a shot where he wasn’t set and he isn’t the person you want shooting at that time period. Following that, he gives up a basket in the paint which I will say was a hard shot....

CL has improved in many ways and he is obviously a beast on the boards, high motor low post players are always a good thing. His passing/recognition has improved greatly, but yeah he's not great around the rim offensively. Like any other player in development, he has his strengths and his weaknesse...

One minuscule thing to add. That loss is a quad 2. Our win over them is one slot away from becoming a quad 2 win. Anything helps. After the BYU/Zags game last night Lunardi still had Richmond in the last 4 in (even with their loss to Bonnies). He did not show URI in the last 4 byes or last 4 in so he still has them comfortably in. He said so many bubble teams lost that there really wasn't much movement.

Recent league game results have not been good for the prospects of multiple A- 10 teams getting at large invites. The worst case scenario of just one bid is possible if Dayton keeps winning. martin had a mental lapse, but otherwise had a very strong game. i'm putting this more on the coach than any of the players. how toppin is not in instead of walker in crunch time is baffling. walker has played like garbage in every game outside of his first game here. he is no threat to make a shot....
