Re: 2022-23 Women's Games of Interest

La Salle's win over Fordham in today's matinee keeps us in with a shot at the #1 seed even if we lose today. Both Fordham (UMass's other H+H opponent) and St. Joe's (our other H+H opponent) are now 8-5. Fordham beat St. Joe's, so if we lose tonight and then both UMass and we finish 15-1, we would ne...

Re: 2022-23 Schedule (top post is current)

I know that it's been discussed at times in the past, but what are everyone's thoughts on breaking the league into groups for the last part of the regular season to ensure that the best teams play one another more? With 15 teams, you could play a single round-robin (14 games), then break the league ...

Re: 2021-22 Women's Basketball

We've also got a road game with Fordham originally scheduled for January 9th that was postponed and has not yet been rearranged. Let's hope that a date can be found, because that would be another Q1 opportunity for us. Assuming that both sides earn a double-bye, perhaps the game could be played on t...

Re: 2021-22 Women's Basketball

Just a quick note of appreciation for this squad: last night's victory at Duquesne (NET 182) won't go down anywhere as a "quality win," but we shouldn't underestimate what a tough feat it was to go on the road and take down a better-rested opponent just 2 days after a grueling battle with ...

Re: 2021-22 Women's Basketball

Went to the game last night and was impressed with another comprehensive victory for the Rams. Some observations: - Tahane was just too good for the Crimson all evening. She had her way with 22 points on 8/12 from the floor and pulled down 12 rebounds (5 offensive). Enjoy her play while you can - sh...

Re: 2021 Men’s Soccer

Absolutely massive match for the Rams. A loss to Duquesne will knock us out of the running for an at-large bid, while a win (assuming that St. Louis wins their semifinal) should virtually guarantee us a good enough RPI to be selected. I only wish that I didn't have to leave for the Ryan Center befor...

Re: Mens Soccer - 2019

Hard-fought 1-0 win for the Rams at UMass on a windswept and choppy pitch. Rhody had most of the ball and dictated play throughout the match but struggled to test the opposing keeper. We finally got the breakthrough late in the 2nd half when the UMass back line failed to deal with a cross and Tambur...

Re: Mens Soccer - 2019

Massive 2-1 victory over VCU last night! Rhody's defense was mostly tidy at the back, and the forwards generated plenty of chances - we could have easily scored 2 more goals on the night. Our first goal was particularly pretty - Akselsen's cross from the right landed on the head of Zarokostas, who w...

Re: 2019 Rhody baseball

What a great sweep for the Rams! Tough series next weekend at Davidson, but after that, our last four A-10 opponents have a combined conference record to date of 7-26. We've got a great shot at a strong seeding in the A-10 tournament, which will be held this May at Fordham.

Great to get the W, but it have been a Pyrrhic victory...Tyler Wilson was removed in the first inning with an injury. Hoping for good news.

Lawson is not taking practice reps with the other QBs, but Aaron Parker is. Wildcat to feature prominently today?

Re: Gm 6 Football vs Maine 12pm Sat Oct 13 Homecoming for URI

Just had a band of moderately heavy rain come through Kingston - would have to think that even if Lawson was truly a gametime decision, he won't be risked in these conditions. Still optimistic that we can take this one - go Rhody!

Re: 2018 Baseball Season and Preseason Poll

That was a big one for Rhody, pulling away in the late innings after Wilson gave back an early lead. Tyler Barss faced the minimum over the last 3 innings to record the W. If we win the second game of the doubleheader, we'll only need regular season champs St. Louis to win 1 of their last 2 vs GW to...

Re: The David Cox Era

I like the idea of a Glen Miller hire. Maybe Thorr can sing him a Moonlight Serenade to get him In the Mood to come to Rhody. Let's hope this goes through, because if we don't fill out the staff soon, I'll be reaching for my Little Brown Jug.

Re: 3/10 | St. Joe's Hawks | 1PM (CBSSN) (A10 Semifinal)

Just like last year, I've barely slept tonight - I wonder which of our Rams are also unable to sleep before Championship Sunday. Some thoughts from Saturday: - So proud of Andre for keeping us in the game in the first half. He's the best individual story on the roster this season - great seeing him ...

Re: 3/9 | VCU Rams | 12PM (NBCSN) (A10 Quarterfinal)

Hi everyone, first time, long time. Not a basketball expert here by any means, but after attending the game and peeking at the boxscore, I have these thoughts: - If Cyril is still nursing an injury, then the way today's game went for him may prove invaluable to us come Saturday and Sunday. Our tough...
