Re: Game #13 - URI vs. Brown, in-game
Well, it was a win, but boring was not the word for this game. It was excruciating - like a street game except I don't pay to see street games and the many empty seats tells me others don't either. Yes, we had a great defense, but you can go only so far with that considering the Rams inept scoring. ...

Re: Preview and In-Game for Georgia State
A ragged game at best. Any URI post play was absent and the Rams got away with it because GSU had even less. Very disorganized on offense. URI has moved up the defensive effort over last year, but this game was a step back in that respect as shown by GSU getting a few uncontested lay-ups, in additio...

What you don't get in your density is that the BCS football money will help all their athletics programs including basketball. You get a windfall from basketball, they get it from both. Now do you get it or are you that dense.

Couple of items. First, Butler will not join a league with all Catholic schools. Trust me on that. Second, the demise of the BE will come at the initiative of the football schools or more departures from that group - primarily UConn or Cincy. Until that happens the BB schools can meet all they want,...

Red is right in that the chips are held by the football schools, so don't expect action by the seven basketball only schools on their own. They don't want to give up the money. If change comes, it will be initiated by the football schools and only them.

After 9 games, this URI team is making only modest progress with little consistency of play. Nice article by smarty. Given URI's slow start to games so far this season, a carryover from last year, this game will be no contest from beginning to end. The Rams will fail to score 50 points, the OSU margin will peak at 41 points and garbage time will reduce the final margin to 32.
