Re: 2/15 | Saint Joe’s | 12:00PM (CBSSN)
With just 2 wins in their last 21 games & struggling almost as much as notable alum Delonte West, the Hawks look to pick up their first conference win. I enjoy these previews, but have to take exception to the gratuitous cheap shot at Delonte West. Thank you Rhode_Island_Red. Delonte has a 6 ye...

Re: 3/5 | Saint Joseph’s | 7:00PM (CBSSN)
Thought we'd have a chance to spoil their senior night (a little payback), but they honored their seniors on Saturday. What's the deal with that? It's been a 3rd consecutive injury riddled year with Charlie Brown missing some time with a foot injury then Checco Oliva for a while with a concussion a...

Dribble Handoff's Tournament Central
Frank consulted with the Hawks when we started using analytics. He also worked with Duke on their way to a couple of conference titles and a national championship. Smart young guy I had dinner with him and he turned me on to a book Basketball on Paper by Dean Oliver. Here are Frank's insights as you...

Good luck from Hawk Hill
I don't know if Hurley has open practices but if he does I bet the team would appreciate some friendly faces in the crowd. College kids won't show it but after losing three of their last five and very nearly three of their last four games I suspect the confidence they built up during that long winni...

Re: 2/27 | St. Joe's Hawks | 7PM (CBSSN) (Senior Night)
Thanks for the comments JoeCabrey, The student allotment is capped at 1500 and when the game is sold out well in advance, the number of students who get in never rises above that level. In cases of week night games when ticket sales tend to slough off, the Ryan ticket office allows in additional st...

Re: 2/27 | St. Joe's Hawks | 7PM (CBSSN) (Senior Night)
Got it thanks and except for tomorrow of course or the unlikely event we meet a second time this year good luck the rest of the way. I've seen a few games and it looks like a club that has an excellent chance to be playing in the second weekend of the tournament or more.

Re: 2/27 | St. Joe's Hawks | 7PM (CBSSN) (Senior Night)
Would really love to see 7,720 in attendance for this game to break the 100,000 barrier for the year. Three other games this year had bigger crowds (PC/Davidson/Dayton) so it is possible even though the official capacity is listed at 7,657. It will require all the suites to be filled and student al...

Re: EC Injury Watch
From Hawk Hill relieved to hear E.C.'s injury won't end his collegiate career and potentially derail the great season you have going right now. Congratulations on URI's highest ranking ever and climbing to the top of https://www.midmajormadness.com/2018/2/12/17004498/mid-major-madness-power-rankings...

Re: Congratulations from Hawk Hill
Appreciate that thank you. Optimistic that Fresh Kimble will be back at 100% although it is the same injury that's kept Ben Simmons on the sidelines so long. Even more uncertainty over next year for Shavar Newkirk, Checco Oliva, and Lorenzo Edwards. Was glad to see E.C. return to action hopefully ne...

A lot of flights into San Francisco for sure so probably a little cheaper. Spokane wasn't easy but worth it! Good luck!

Congratulations from Hawk Hill
I was at the game in Philadelphia when Odom buried that buzzer beater to beat Temple. Would not have imagined it would be until 2017 before URI went back to the NCAA Tournament. It has to be a great feeling for all involved but especially long term fans. I feel for those of you on the east coast loo...

A Tip of the Hat to E.C. Matthews
Greetings from Hawk Hill. I'd like to acknowledge that E.C. Matthews contacted Shavar Newkirk after Shavar's season ending ACL injury. Matthews reaching out and lending his support and 1st hand experience with the injury and rehab meant a lot to Shavar. As a footnote to last year's game in Kingston ...

Re: A-10 Officials are killing Rhody
"The podunk A-10 really likes to screw URI whether it is the officiating or something else. Another poke in the eye is that reports from Richmond are that the games at the Barclays. next season vs. the ACC (in exchange for moving the tourney) will have Richmond and VCU as the A-10 reps. It was ...
